Tax Return Steps

Everything you need to get your return filed — in two simple steps.

Getting your taxes done shouldn't require a manual. We've simplified the process into two straightforward steps so we can get started quickly, work efficiently, and file accurately. Complete both steps below and we'll take it from there.

Have questions before you get started? Reach out at jacki@ascendance-consulting.com or [Book a Call]

STEP 1 — COMPLETE YOUR TAX INTERVIEW

Before we can prepare your return, we need to understand your full tax picture for the year. Our tax interview is a detailed questionnaire that walks you through everything we need to know — income sources, deductions, life changes, business activity, and more.

This replaces the traditional tax organizer that most firms send and clients never fill out. It's designed to make sure nothing gets missed, every deduction is captured, and we satisfy our due diligence requirements before we ever start preparing your return.

Please select the interview that applies to you:

[Individual Tax Interview — 1040] (link — coming soon)

For individuals, families, and self-employed filers with no formal business entity.

[Business Tax Interview] (link — coming soon)

For business owners filing with an LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, or other registered entity. If you have both personal and business returns, complete both interviews.

Already a current client? You will also receive your Drake organizer through your client portal automatically. The organizer serves as a helpful reference against your prior year return — but please complete the interview above first, as that is our primary intake tool.

STEP 2 — SUBMIT YOUR GOOD FAITH DEPOSIT

A non-refundable good faith deposit is required to reserve your spot and confirm your engagement before work begins. Your deposit is applied to your final invoice at the conclusion of your engagement. Full payment is required before any return is filed or deliverable is released.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once we have your completed interview and deposit on file, we will be in touch within 1–2 business days to confirm receipt, provide portal access if you haven't already been set up, and let you know if we need anything additional before we begin.

Filing deadlines matter. The sooner you complete both steps, the sooner we can get to work.
